The third sector (NGOs and other kinds of not for profit organisations) is a major employer of Arts, Humanities and Social Science graduates. These organisations are often the first point of contact for many vulnerable and marginalised communities both nationally and internationally. This training aims to provide an introduction to the issues, challenges and rewards involved in working with these communities and the unique and valuable skills that CHASE graduates can bring to this work. The training is delivered by Freya White, founder of the charity Refugee Children’s Centres and Jade Lee, a CHASE student and Early Childhood Development Coordinator of RCC. As such, it is particularly focused on the specific context of children and young people, whether in camps or in more stable settings. The two day training will be highly interactive and require active participation from the attendees. It will also be a chance to hear more about a new placement partnership with CHASE and RCC.
